Koa Misi Kicks-Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Inaugural Pink Tie Bash & VIP Pink Dinner, Benefiting Cleveland Clinic Florida
On October 8, 2015, Miami Dolphins Linebacker, Koa Misi #55, will kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month at his inaugural Pink Tie Bash & VIP Pink Dinner. The cause is a personal one for Koa - his grandmother is battling breast cancer. After living cancer free for several years she learned that the cancer progressed spreading to her bones. It is her fight for survival that has brought Koa on this journey. The money raised from the events will support programs that advance breast cancer patient care and patient advocacy.
The “Pink Tie Bash” will take place at Caffé Europa on Las Olas and will feature a live DJ, hors d’oeuvres, prepared by Caffe Europa’s talented culinary team, and an opportunity to mix and mingle with dolphin players, cheerleaders and other VIP guests. Following the Pink Tie Bash, Koa is hosting a private dinner for 80 of his closest friends and supporters at the Lobster Bar Sea Grille. The “VIP Pink Dinner” will be an intimate fine dining experience in the restaurants private Boulevard Room and will include a 3 course dinner, prepared by Chef Jeff Pfeiffer, paired with wines provided by Southern Wine and Spirits. After dinner drinks, compliments of Remy Martin, will be in the private bar lounge.
“My goal is to make an impact on the fight against breast cancer,” said Koa. “When I learned that one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, I knew I could not just sit back.” He stated that “the concept for the Pink Tie Bash was my idea, but I didn’t know how to get started? I hired Kevin Johnson of Johnson Management Group and professional fundraiser, Tracy Roloff, to make it happen. I’m happy with the direction that they took to ensure its success. I believe working alongside my family, teammates and the community at large, will help to raise money that will make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients.”
Major sponsors/partners include: AutoNation, Inc.; Zimmerman Advertising; CBIZ MHM, LLC; The Rubin Group; Esse Plastic Surgery; The Advertising Department; Tommy Hilfiger; and media partner Gold Coast magazine.
Tickets are $50 for the Pink Tie Bash Cocktail Party and $250 for the VIP Pink Dinner. To purchase tickets securely on-line go to www.giving.ccf.org/pinktiebash or contact Tracy Roloff at Tracy.Roloff@att.net
