The Second Annual Diversity Honors Gala In Honor Of Harvey Milk At The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel And Casino On Friday, May 13
Diversity Honors, the highly touted event benefiting the Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park, is poised to be the event of the year showcasing those who are transforming lives by living authentically and advancing inclusiveness as a kick off to Harvey Milk Day events across the nation. The impressive roster of honorees to be recognized Friday, May 13 from 7-10 p.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood are: Peter Clark, publisher of Hotspots Media Group; Enbar Cohen, City of Aventura Commissioner; Mark Denker, M.D. of Palm Beach Fertility Center; Rae Franks, lawyer and LGBT advocate; Robert Runcie, Superintendent of Broward County Public Schools and Judge David Young, plus the annual Milk Foundation Milan Rosza Award will recognize Ryland Whittington.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, as the presenting sponsor, will again be the host site for Diversity Honors, which coincides with celebrations around the globe for Harvey Milk Day (May 22), an official state holiday in California that celebrates Milk’s enduring legacy of hope and example of courage. Guests at Diversity Honors will enjoy a lively cocktail reception with the North American premiere of the Levi’s® X Harvey Milk Foundation Pride 2016 Collection, a seated three-course dinner and an inspiring awards presentation hosted by Omar Lewis, WSVN weekend morning news anchor, which will include Stuart Milk’s 2016 “State of the Global Equality” address. There will be an incredible array of featured raffle items and balloon pop giveaways including trips, fine cosmetics, fashions, dining certificates and more.
Attendees will also enjoy a special performance by Levi Kreis, Tony Award-winning actor/singer known as one of the most honest communicators. In theater circles, Kreis is known for originating the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in Broadway’s Tony nominated musical Million Dollar Quartet. The role won Levi the 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, a 2010 Outer Critics Circle Award and a 2010 Drama League nomination. In film, Levi is best known for his role as Fenton, Adam’s brother (Matthew McConaughey) in Bill Paxton’s directorial debut Frailty (2001).
