THE SIXTH ANNUAL JOHN OFFERDAHL’S BROWARD HEALTH® GRIDIRON GRILL-OFF FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL TO FEATURE TRAVEL CHANNEL’S ADAM RICHMAN
Football, food and charity will collide during the sixth annual John Offerdahl’s Broward Health® Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine Festival at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater on Saturday, Nov. 14. Adam Richman, author, actor and television personality, will be the featured national celebrity guest during this culinary competition, during which Miami Dolphins legends and acclaimed local chefs team up to create signature dishes served with premium Gallo wines.
Richman grew up in the food Mecca of New York City and began his love affair with food early on, sampling all of the diverse culinary specialties The Big Apple had to offer. After years of travel and invaluable on-the-job experience, Adam began hosting “Man v Food” for the Travel Channel, which quickly became their highest rated show. Adam’s first book, “America the Edible” (Rodale Publishing), hit stands in 2010 and his second book, “Straight-Up Tasty” (Clarkson Potter), debuted in June 2015. As an added bonus, Gridiron Grill-Off VIP ticket-holders will receive signed copies of “Straight-Up Tasty” and the opportunity to meet Adam.
During the Grand Grill-Off from 1 – 4 p.m., football fans and foodies, aged 21 and older, will sample delicious grilled entrees served by leading South Florida restaurants, such as Darrel & Oliver’s Cafe Maxx, Grille 401, Lobster Bar, Oceans 234, McCoy’s Oceanfront and YOLO, while meeting former Dolphins players, including Channing Crowder, Keith Sims and Zach Thomas.
As part of the event experience, attendees will also access The Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Tailgate Zone, Guy Harvey’s Sustainable Seafood Village, Sam Adams’s Beer Garden and compete at the Your Local Toyota and Scion Dealers Cornhole Stadium.
Event tickets are $85 each or $125 each for the VIP ticket package, which includes early access into the Grand Grill-Off starting at 12 p.m. This exclusive added hour of fun will feature an open bar and the chance to beat the lines for food tasting and to play cornhole. Tickets for this culinary competition for charity are available at www.gridirongrilloff.com.
100% of event net proceeds will benefit Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation and its mission to “Feed the Needs of Kids in Crisis.” Charitable recipients include 4KIDS of South Florida, HOPE South Florida, Here’s Help, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation, Miami Dolphins Foundation and Taste of the NFL.
This tribute to football, food and charity is sponsored by Broward Health and in part by Walgreens.
