Artopia - Bridging Communities through the Arts

This June as the LGBT community celebrates Pride month, the Gay and Lesbian Business eXchange (GLBX) Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, will be celebrating the arts, Friday, June 23rd, with their 1st annual GLBX fundraiser - “ARTOPIA – Bridging Communities Through The Arts” presented by AUDI Coral Springs / Lighthouse Point. Partial proceeds of the event will go to the Broward County Cultural Division Grants program for the arts.

The concept of ARTOPIA is to celebrate the diversity of Broward County’s professional and cultural communities and how this diversity brings businesses form all industries together to form substantive and lucrative relationships, thus enabling our local economy to grow.
ARTOPIA will be a true celebration of the arts and artists in South Florida and will be appropriately held at GalleryONE Doubletree Suites by Hilton, beautifully situated on Intracoastal Waterway, next to the Galleria Mall on Sunrise Blvd.  The evening will consist of showcasing a variety of arts, including: Culinary Arts, Fashion, Visual Arts – painting, sketching, printmaking and photography and the Performance arts – film, music, song and dance.  The attendees of ARTOPIA will get a unique opportunity to not only enjoy the multitude of art and performances on display but they will also get to mingle and socialize with the artists themselves.  Each artist will be accompanied by an Art Ambassador that will assist in introducing the artists to the guests.  A variety of food stations will be located throughout the hotel displaying the creative culinary creations from a variety of local chefs and restaurants.   VIP guests will enjoy an early Reception with the artists and have access to the specially designated AUDI Lounge area with full bar service and special musical performances, VIP parking and gift bag.  General admission guests will have access to the event with food and complimentary beer and wine bars throughout the event and parking.
So as the community celebrates its Pride this month, come out and celebrate its diversity through the arts at ARTOPIA – Friday, June 13th from 6pm to 9pm (VIP artists’ reception starts a 5pm).  General Admission tickets start at $50 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members.  VIP tickets are $75 for chamber members and $85 for non-members.  Tickets can be purchased on the website www.ftlchamber.com/artopia. ; For inquires please contact Rene Cantu at 954-462-7498 or email at rene@ftlchamber.com
